Project Thiramai - An intiative for empowering women

Why & How Project Thiramai ?

Late in 2015, Chennai has experienced its one of the most devastating natural disasters - the Chennai floods. Many ended up losing their family members and most lost economically. In the midst, many companies and corporate sectors came forward to help the people who were in need.

Project Thiramai powered by SMILE and PepsiCo Foundation lifted its arms up to help the people stuck by this disaster in reconstructing their families. so in a unique way, this organisation picked up 235 rural women from 12 villages of Kancheepuram district and given vocational training on stitching techniques.

PepsiCo Foundation launched a unique community development and rehabilitation programme implemented by Smile Foundation. The initiative has been running three programmes across these villages - Smile On Wheels mobile health vans, a School Health Programme and Project Thiramai for Women Empowerment.


Whats Project Thiramai ??

ProjectThiramai  is an outstanding initiative for empowering underprivileged women by providing vocational training in tailoring techniques.

As part of Project Thiramai, four vocational training centers have been set up for three-month programme and the curriculum is said to be designed by professionals.

As a part of  this training programme, students learnt to stitch different garments for children and ladies, This programme includes repair and management of the sewing machine so that they can independently fix on any issue, Added holistic development like Yoga and meditation classes, awareness on nutrition, education on obesity and eradication of poverty are what make this programme unique for the people involved.

As part of its community development initiatives, PepsiCo Foundation in association with Smile Foundation on 10th May 2017 held a convocation ceremony to felicitate 235 women students graduating from its vocational training program called Project Thiramai.

Women beneficiaries from the first two batches of the course were felicitated with certificates and a free sewing machine.

Mr Sanjeev Dham, applauded all women who were trained out as a part of this programme, also said "We salute their spirit and congratulate our first batch of women graduates and wish them all the very best for their future". He also thanked Pepsico foundation for being so supportive about this initiative.

Ms. Poonam Kaul, appreciated womens for taking up step forward to empower others, said that “We are proud of the brave women from Kancheepuram district who have chosen to be economically empowered. A key focus of PepsiCo Foundation’s community development and rehabilitation initiative with Smile Foundation was on livelihood enhancement for underprivileged families in villages around our manufacturing plant in Mamandur. There are several garment manufacturing units around this belt, but there was a dearth of skilled tailoring workforce in these villages. Project Thiramai opening up opportunities for them to take up employment at these factories or to work from their home as entrepreneurs, if they so choose.” 

As a part of convocation cermony, trained woman's were awarded certificates and free sewing machines.

A few about Pepsico foundation,

PepsiCo India has actively showcased its  contribution towards the growth of Tamil Nadu since 1989, Creating employment for more than 15,000 people through manufacturing, sales and distribution initiatives. The company currently works with more than 400 farmers across the State for better cultivation practices and sourcing. 

Its Direct Seeding initiative for rice has helped farmers reduce the water consumption by 30%, and helped save 1.5 billion liters of water in Tamil Nadu alone in 2015.

During Chennai floods, PepsiCo India mobilized its sales and plant team to deliver relief to people. Over 1.4million liters of Aquafina water and 38,000kg of Quaker oats were distributed during the time.

#LifeAtRamco- Ramco Systems- Thrive Digitally

This Post is solely contributed towards corporate world. Am gonna share my experiences of one of the most eminent corporate companies called Ramco systems.

Lots of bloggers & Influencers were invited to visit and experience the #LifeAtRamco. More than 25-30 bloggers & influencers have attended the event. the visit was not usual but an awesome one.

Event was reasonably scheduled on a Friday evening at Ramco systems, Near Madhyakailash, Chennai Dated 29/04/2016 between 5.45 to 8.00 pm. Bloggers meet started on time, but i was late due to heck of traffic in Chennai.

This event was special to me and i was curious about the corporate life, because i was also hired by an corporate company. Still i didn't experience any corporate background, i was little much excited for the event. So what Happened there ??

By 6.10 pm, I entered Ramco systems headquarters, entered the reception counter and my tag was ready with my team name and WiFi passwords. After then entered the Bloggers meet arena, The area was awesome wow what an atmosphere it was.... filled with co-bloggers spicing with chats and sequences and went well. while entering......
Hot coffee welcomed me with its aroma.... had an coffee and beside it was a vending machine filled with full of healthy snacks and that's for corporate guys who needs some healthy food.

#LifeAtRamco Awesome Feature's

1. Maintaining friendly relationship with employee's which will make them work to motivate their challenges.
2. They are maintaining cutting edge technologies and thus making them forward growth with competitors
3. The Ramco systems way of motivating employee's and their work culture was fantastic.
4. Everyone's will given equal respect, but not according to the positions acquired.
5. Employee's are happy to work with the company as they are given freedom to think and freedom to proceed.

Now whats inn for the meet ??

After discussions, we were partitioned into team heading with Ramco systems employee's. We were organized to visit and experience the Ramco systems campus or #LifeAtRamco.

My team name was "Marina Beach"... To My surprise my team mates were Mr. Sarath babu, Mr. SathyaNarayanan, Ms. Katie Tooo.
Yes we now started our explorations, firstly we explored Fika Cafe,
Ambiance made me feel the pleasure inside the cafe with lots fika arts and paintings with classical style. It was a wow feel inside the cafe,

 Here, Cross fits, yoga, Zumba dance are the voices. 

1. Stress-free life is much need between corporate life and normal life. So some physical exercise is much needed for refreshing start.
2. This shows that Ramco Systems are much dedicated towards Employee's nature and their life.
3. This concern is much needed for all corporate organizations.

Even life is a challenge we face every day with lots of hurdles to cross successfully. We need to set a goal and we need to achieve it with passion.

Now Chirapsia.......

Whats That??????? Chirapsia- In Greek word called for Head And Body massages.

It was surprising thing in a company for massage section, but adding spice to my surprise, Chirapsia is fully designed by Ramco's employees and massages are done 3 days in a week. Its a stress free therapy again..

After this all ended with surprises we now marched up to Human Resources Dept, Its called HR dept as we say....

HR dept was all of surprises, sturdy interview cabins, more than HR dept its got another way of relaxation dept. Lots of selfie stuffs with awesome meeting cabins. It was more than we expected actually. Their phenomena "" Employee's are always right""..

          This meet climaxed with food and snacks with lots of entertainment and fun. Ramco systems sets an example for all other corporate companies and its the best of all. And also another successful milestones we crossed that we trended top slots on Twitter.

Canadian Crepe - Review

About,
     Canadian crepe is one of the new add-on's to the restaurant chain's, Adding Canadian tastes into the lists. The menu card is limited, and so its easy to choose whatever your fav's and no confusions over choosing it.

Coming to the Ambiance,
        Ambiance was nice, silent, with well designed interiors makes it modern style dining, the lighting was awesome, modernized furniture's added a delight to our eyes. Every table consisted of cutlery sets. The area of the restaurant is comparatively less but well executed to Comfort up more than 20 members. the portion is partitioned into kitchen and dining space, So people can view whats going on in kitchen.
Concluding that Ambiance of the restaurant was good.

About the food,
         Canadian Crepe's foods has great quality and limited menu to taste all kinds of dishes and rates are normal.

Firstly we were served with Chilling Smoothies..

Smoothies were at its best nicely done. First likes would be Ruby Red as it had the best taste with punch of strawberry,nuts and raspberries. Loved the taste of it.
Groovy green smoothie tasted little much salty.
ATF smoothie wasn't tasted great, the smell of banana was raw, that should be eliminated.

Crepe's (savory) :
       The presentations of all the crepes was awesome, the taste's of the crepe's was also great.

 The American Crepe

American crepe was awesome, presented with nachos and veggies. The crepe is loaded with Mushroom's and mashed potatoes with cheddar and inclined with BBQ sauce. Wow the taste was fantastic. Yum Yum, Actually we were drooled for another one. Though smoothies didn't impress us much, the taste of these crepe made the day. Its A must maza try. 

 Pattaya To Phuket

After American crepe, We were little much excited to taste the next delighting savory. And yes it did made our senses more tempting, Came with more exciting name known as Pattaya To Phuket, Yes the taste was also unique. The Crepe's were stuffed with Tofu, Peanuts, Coconut Cream, Yeah little much bites of the peanuts at the middle makes the flavor of the crepe more Indian style and does justified the taste. The taste of it was awesome and its a must try one.

 Italian job Crepe

Italian crepe was also good with the presentation,  the Italian veggie style was little spicy and did justified the taste of Italian cuisine. With mastering the olives, mushrooms and tomatoes, the Italian crepe tasted good and great.

 Mexican Delight Crepe

Mexican crepe also tasted good, the presentation of it was awesome and tasted little much of Mexican cuisine but didn't justified with Mexican taste's.

Indian Crepe's : 

Three Cheese and Chilli (Dhak Dhak Dilli)

As said Indian crepe's, It Tasted as it. This crepe were loaded with Burj panner and mix of spices. paneer tasted like egg actually, But the taste was spicy. Its a must try.

Madras Crepe

Namma style Madras crepe. Crepe loaded with Spicy Aloo & sprinkled with gun powder mayo. The Crepe tasted actually like Authentic South Indian Masala Dosa. Ahaan, Madras crepe was awesome Loved the taste. Must Must must Try.

Classical's Crepe :

Nutella n Banana

This is This is just just awesome one. Loved each and every piece of it. the crepe was nicely sprayed with Nutella and banana that made the crepe awesome. Nicely presented with Fresh-cream and Vanilla ice-cream made the dish fantastic. Its a star rated one. Must Try.

Lemon And Sugar

This crepe tasted good. Actually lemon used in the crepe was little huge such that crepe's taste was little sour and the crepe were sprinkled with sugar. That made the crepe good and awesome.

Milkshakes:

Vanilla Milkshake

Vanilla Milkshake was awesome... Little much of cream and vanilla. The quantity of it was also justified and nicely done.

This restaurant was also great with good ambiance and made our taste buds exciting with its flavors.

North or South, Which are the major cuisine partition of India at a larger scale with multiple no of recipes. Yeah many of the competitions are based on North as well as South.
North Indian cuisine, usually an tempting one and gives your tongue, triggering tastes. Yes, We had the same feel at the Kitchens of #UttarBhojan When we had tasted Ultimate Flavors of North Indian Cuisine.

About #UttarBhojan,
As explained, #UttarBhojan is known for authentic cuisine of north Indian tastes, Mainly flavors of UP (Uttar Pradesh).

Mr. Krishnan KS, Who is the founder of #UttarBhojan narrated us the story of his career and his experiences which made us inspiring. As said, Mr. Krishnan started his career as a salesmen at his uncles company to sell tooth-pastes, At his 1st month he got an outstanding salary of Rs 500/-, but it didn't satisfy him so he left his uncles company with utmost anger and later 3 days after, his uncle again met him and told Mr. krishnan that work with me for another 6 months & see the difference. Also Mr. Krishnan agreed and did the job. Later now, the experience given his uncle worked out the whole of his life and he's releasing the importance of the experience. Mr. Krishnan survived the corporate life for more than 23 years, After successful rewards and experience in a corporate world.

Later, Now his dream waked him up to open a food chain and be the boss.

This is how #UttarBhojan Have started its chain, His Wife Ms. Akhila Krishnan, who is the pillar supporting behind the man who's running out #UttarBhojan. Ms. Akhila Krishnan, Supported a lot to begin authentic home-made North Indian cuisine, now its known as #UttarBhojan.

Uttar Bhojan, Its Known for the flavors of the north and tastes of exactly UP. #UttarBhojan, Where main chef and co assistants are from Uttar Pradesh  and so the taste of their recipes are exactly the flavors of up and originality of north Indian cuisine.

So Came the Name UttarBhojan #TasteTheNorth.

Now its time to share what we ate and whats the taste,

We were allowed inside the kitchen and they displayed all the products they use and cleanliness of the area where they cook food.
They use groundnut oil for cooking purposes and all the products they use are standard and branded. They don't give up the quality of the products and their authenticity.

Unique Stuff Of Samosa from the kitchens of UttarBhojan displayed to us. This stuff will not contain onions and this stuff is exactly in north Indian style and tasted awesome.

Shikanji

Shikanji is a drink made in North made which traditional lemonade. This drink is made few nos of masalas and mix of lemon. Its Summer Special guys it tasted awesome, Try Now at #UttarBhojan.

Samosa

Its Samosa Spell It Well, Wow the taste of samosa was awesome, served with green chutney and tamarind chutney. Green chutney was tasty and it was tasted different from others. This taste triggered me to eat more and more. Guys try it out at all #UttarBhojan Outlets.

Paratha's (Aloo, Mooli, panneer, onion, gobi )

Paratha's are always a part of North indian Cuisine and yeah the paratha's were amazing here at #UttarBhojan. Paratha's were soft, nicely rolled with stuffs such as grated paneer, mooli (radish), onion, gobi, Aloo. Served with pickle and curd. My first priority goes to aloo paratha, coz of its taste, secondly all the paratha's tasted well.

 Bhel Puri

Bhel puri was awesome, Chennailites everyone would have tried at kiosk shops and many chat restaurants. But this Bhel puri tasted different, Yes its unique. try it out at any of the outlets of #UttarBhojan.

Badushah

Bread Bhajji

We at last stuffed full, but also had some of the best sweets of north such as Gulab jamun and badushah. Bread bhajji is unique here as they stuff aloo masala, it made the bhajji awesome. 

Uttar Bhojan is a growing startup food chain and serves exclusive North Indian Thali's and Chats.
